2024 Grant Making
Each year the UMFWO makes grants to ministries and missions within the West Ohio Conference.
The following grants will be made in 2024:
Board -Designated Giving
✓ Bishop’s Go! Grants – UMFWO will be making a total of $7000 in grants to four churches to support their program requests. These include:
- Cityview UMC’s City Friends program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD)
- Franklin First UMC’s Angel Shop program for teens
- Riley Creek UMC’s Hands On Faith STEM Club for kids
- Scioto Ridge UMC’s respite program for Dementia and Alzheimer’s caregivers
✓ Bishop’s Clergy Day Apart sponsorship – UMFWO is sponsoring this event on Feb. 8, 2024.
✓ Nonprofit Partners Program grants – these small grants are only available to participants in our Nonprofit Partners Program. Please find more information here.

- Henderson Settlement by the Volk Endowment
- Johnstown UMC by the Margaret M. Rutledge Memorial Endowment
- New Bloomington UMC by the Robert and Gertrude Everett Fund
- South Zanesville UMC by the Thomas/Kinnan Fund
- UMCH Family Services by the Mount Endowment Scholarship
- Worthington UMC by the Kirsch Memorial Fund
- Winchester UMC by the Kendall Family Endowment Fund
Grants Available for Specific Purposes
- VBS Programs and other Christian education programming by the Clara’s Kiddies/Jessie’s Vine Endowment – please contact Maddy DeWitt in February for more information on this opportunity.
- Alford-Cantlin Fellows Program at Methodist Theological School of Ohio – please see more information here
- Clergy leadership and education programs from the Frazier Endowment – these funds will be utilized in partnership with the Office of Ministry.
